Who Are We?

The women behind Curriculum Rocks!

Curriculum Rocks! was started by two teachers and sisters, Lauren Mayer and Nancy Mayer, to provide entertaining and educational music for parents, teachers and children. At Curriculum Rocks!, we believe music can be both educational AND entertaining, and our grade level CDs and classroom musicals use educationally sound strategies to reinforce and support classroom teaching, while appealing to contemporary kids, who want fun, upbeat and interesting music. Our materials support specific curriculum benchmarks and standards.

Lauren Mayer is an award-winning songwriter and performer who has written several published children's musicals, as well as writing and performing her original comedy music. She is a phi beta kappa graduate of Yale University, where she studied composition and music theory, and she is a 5-time recipient of the San Francisco Bay Area Cabaret Gold Award.

Nancy Mayer has been a classroom teacher in Paso Robles, California for 29 years, covering grades 1-5, and her students love staying in touch with her (her first set of 5th graders are now turning 40!). She is a Master Teacher, an ELD specialist & mentor, a membership chair & rep for the teachers' union, and a Teacher of the Year.
